How often should you have a hygiene appointment?

For most patients, we recommend professional cleaning every 6–12 months. Smokers, people who drink a lot of coffee or tea, wear orthodontic appliances, or struggle with periodontal disease may need appointments more often. During your consultation, the dentist or hygienist will recommend the optimal frequency tailored to your situation.

Hygienization consists of several stages:

Examination and assessment of hygiene and dietary habits, along with comprehensive guidance

stage 2

Scaling

– Ultrasonic removal of supragingival and subgingival calculus, i.e., the main factors causing inflammation of the gums and periodontium, as well as unpleasant odor

stage 3

Sandblasting

– Removal of unsightly deposits, which will additionally brighten your smile visually

stage 4

Polishing

– Smoothing the surface of teeth to slow down tartar buildup

stage 5

Fluoridation

– Prevention of post-treatment hypersensitivity and counteracting the formation of carious lesions
